How to register
Registration is now open for all 2025 ICPSR Summer Program classes. To view our full 2025 schedule and register, visit our 2025 registration portal. (Note that the button below takes you to our external registration website.)
Registration fees
ICPSR is a consortium whose members include hundreds of universities, foundations, government institutions, nonprofits, and more.
If you are a current student, faculty, staff, or researcher at an ICPSR member institution, you qualify for the discounted registration fee for participants from ICPSR member institutions (listed in the table below).

Discounts
Discounts cannot be combined. If you are eligible for more than one discount, we will apply the single highest discount to your registration fees.
Discount for returning ICPSR Summer Program participants
If you took an ICPSR Summer Program course in a previous year, you receive a 15% discount on your registration fee in this year’s ICPSR Summer Program.
Multiple enrollment discount
Participants who register in two or more topical workshops, or a topical workshop and a General Session, are eligible to receive a 15% discount off their total registration fees.
In order to receive this multiple enrollment discount, you must register for the General Session(s) and topical workshop(s) through our registration portals and then, before making your payment, contact icpsr-sumprog@umich.edu and request the “Multiple Enrollment Discount.”
The multiple enrollment discount does not include sponsored topical workshops with discounted or no registration fees.
On-campus housing discount
Participants who purchase on-campus housing in the University of Michigan dorm are eligible for a 10% discount on their General Session registration fee. Visit our Travel & Lodging section for more information.
Group discount for academic departments or programs
We offer a group discount for academic departments or programs that send four or more participants within the same year. This discount may be used for both our General Sessions and our topical fee-carrying workshops. The discount rates are as follows:
- 4-8 participants: 10% discount on their total registration fees
- 9-12 participants: 15% discount
- 13-16 participants: 20% discount
- 17 or more participants: 25% discount
In order to receive the group discount, an official representative from the academic department or program must contact us at icpsr-sumprog@umich.edu and provide the names and registration information (i.e., the sessions or topical workshops) of the participants they are sponsoring. We will then generate an invoice of the participants’ total registration fees with the discount included.
Participants must be from the same academic department or program in order to be eligible for the group discount. The group discount is not available for entire institutions.
Withdrawals & refunds
General sessions
- Participants may withdraw from a General Session and receive a full refund if they do so at least two weeks before the first day of the session.
- Participants who withdraw less than two weeks before the first day of a session will be subject to a 25% late withdrawal fee.
- Participants who withdraw on the first, second, or third day of a session will be subject to a 50% late withdrawal fee.
- There will be no refunds for withdrawal after the third day of each session.
Topical workshops
- Participants may withdraw from a topical workshop and receive a full refund if they do so at least one month prior to the first day of the workshop.
- Participants who withdraw less than one month prior to the first day of a workshop will be subject to a 25% late withdrawal fee.
- Participants who withdraw less than one week before the first day of a workshop will be subject to a 50% late withdrawal fee.
- There will be no refunds for withdrawal on or after the first day of a topical workshop.
